Frequently Asked Questions

It is only natural that you will have a lot of questions about the work I do, so I've put together this handy page full of Frequently Asked Questions for you. If you have any further queries not covered below, please contact me. I love to talk about organising.

What can Orjenise help with?

If you feel stressed when you are at home, spend a lot of time looking for things and are overwhelmed at the thought of doing something about it then Orjenise is for you.

I can help with every area of your home, but please take a look at my services for an idea of how I can support you.

Who uses my organisation and decluttering services?

My Clients are varied: busy parents who have had too many pressures on their time and their home has become overwhelming.

Clients who have suffered a loss, illness or trauma or worked as a carer and understandably the house has not been a priority. When we are busy and under stress our home often suffers.

I also help those who just grew up never having being organised. Increasingly, I am also helping people with a late diagnosis of ADHD.

With Orjenise you get my enthusiasm (no amount of stuff will deter me), encouragement and expertise to get on top everything.

Will you throw all my things away?

No. While I will question why you are keeping some items, what remains in your home is completely up to you. I will never pressure you to get rid of things that bring you joy.

Recycling and sustainability are at the heart of Orjenise. The aim is always for items to be reused where possible. I have places for most things to go to.

How does Orjenise work?

We will work together in your home discussing the issues that you are currently facing. We will sort through the items in your home and recycle/donate where possible.

With the things that remain I will create systems that will work for you and the life that you lead. This may also include suggesting storage or utilising the things you have better around the home.

Can I organise my home myself?

Most of my Clients have made numerous attempts at organising themselves and have become overwhelmed, bored, distracted or stuck.

Your stuff is more than just stuff, its memories, aspirations, half done jobs, the item belonged to someone important, was a gift, reminds you of a good time in your life or doesn’t fit anymore… all of these can become sticking points that stop you from making progress.

Having someone experienced who isn’t emotionally involved helping you with enthusiasm and empathy can make all the difference.

What areas do you cover?

I am based in Leeds and cover Yorkshire. Areas I have Orjenised include (but are not limited to): Garforth, Kippax, Headingley, Roundhay, Ilkley, Oakwood, Rawdon, Alwoodley, York and Wakefield.

I also work in London. Areas include Primrose Hill, Marylebone, Chiswick, Highbury, Hackney, Clerkenwell, Kensington and Notting Hill

Will my neighbours know I’ve hired a professional organiser?

No. I operate a discreet service and as a result I don't have a branded car or clothing.

How did you get into this business?

I have worked as a PA in the past so I always organised other people. However I was not always an organised person myself.

I also used to buy lots of things from Ebay, shops, charity shops, auctions, antique markets…. you get the picture. I had a lot of stuff that I didn't need and as a result I understand how my clients feel, too.

I understand my Clients need to have things and I am far from a minimalist. My epiphany came with reading Marie Kondo’s book (although I do not use her methods now) in around 2012.

I spent years honing my approach, using lots of different methods and have worked with many Clients. I truly believe that having an organised home improves lives by giving you back your valuable space (and time).

How will decluttering improve my life?

My Clients tell me that their home feels much less stressful after we have worked together. They fall back in love with their homes, save time and money, and as an added bonus they don't have to clean as much because everything has a home and a process behind it.

Will you judge me?

No, absolutely not. I love your clutter more than you could ever know, the messier the better. I am here to help you with no judgement.
